Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina Shevchenko is a Kyrgyzstani and Peruvian Muay Thai MMA fighter as well as a mixed martial artist who is currently fighting in the flyweight division of the UFC. Valentina is her younger sister, and also a UFC competitors. Antonina Shevchenko began her career as an Muay Thai kickboxer. She made her debut in 2003 during the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko defeated Jaimelene Nievera at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina utilized superior strikes and striking skills to TKO Nievera by knees to her body while in the fight. Antonina Shevchenko was awarded an UFC contract after the victory. Antonina took part in her UFC debut during the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale with Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko took the win via unanimous decision but losing her following fight to Roxanne Modafferi by split decision. Antonina rebounded from her loss to knock out Lucie Pudilova with a back-naked choke submission during the second round of UFC on ESPN Covington Vs. Lawler. She earned the extra fight of the night in this fight. Shevchenko had a 1-2 record over her next three bouts, winning over Ariane Lipski and losing to Katlyn Clarkagian as well as Andrea Lee. In the past, Antonina fell to Casey O'Neill at UFC Fight Night Santos vs. Walker via second-round TKO.
