Alicia Machado was born Yoseph Alicia Machado in Maracay Venezuela in the month of December 6th, 1976. Alicia is of mixed ancestry. Her father was Spanish as was her mother Cuban. Throughout her life, she has made a notable mark in the field of beauty contests, television as well as film. Machado's fame started when she was named Miss Venezuela in 1995 at the age of 19 as a representative of the State of Yaracuy. The crowning moment came a year later when she won the Miss Universe 1996 title, the fourth Venezuelan to win the coveted title. The time she served as Miss Universe, however, was not without controversy and criticism from the media because of her weight gain in the course of her presidency. Donald Trump who was the Miss Universe Organization's CEO during that time, ridiculed her for her weight gain. Trump addressed her as "Miss Piggy" as well as made her exercise in front of the media. This incident led to a rift which continued for years in between Alicia Trump.
